Regular cleaning

  • After Each Use: Ensure you clean the boat after every session to remove dirt, debris, and fish oils. Use fresh water and a mild detergent if necessary.
  • Avoid High Pressure: Never use high-pressure hoses to clean the bait boat as this may damage the electronics or seals. Instead, use a soft sponge or cloth.
  • Drying: Allow the bait boat to fully dry before storing it to prevent mold and corrosion. Pay attention to the joints, propellers, and hatch areas where water may accumulate.

Mat and cradles

  • Use of Mat: When placing your bait boat on hard surfaces, always use a soft mat or cradle to prevent scratches or damage to the bottom of the boat.
  • Cradle or Stand: Use a specially designed cradle or stand when performing maintenance or repairs. This helps to keep the boat steady and avoids stress on parts of the hull.

Carry bags

  • Protective Bags: Always use a carry bag to protect the bait boat during transport. A well-padded, waterproof bag will prevent knocks, scratches, and exposure to dust and dirt.
  • Fit the Bag Properly: Ensure that the bag is the correct size for your boat. An ill-fitting bag can cause undue pressure on certain parts of the boat and lead to damage over time.
  • Boat Cover: Use a dedicated cover for your bait boat when it is not in use. This will protect it from environmental factors such as dust, moisture, and UV rays, which can degrade the materials over time.

Correct use

    • Safe Launching and Retrieving: Always place the bait boat in the water gently, especially in rocky or shallow areas. When retrieving, avoid dragging the boat over hard surfaces that could damage the hull.
    • Weight Capacity: Do not overload the bait boat with too much bait or additional equipment. Exceeding the weight limit can strain the motors and reduce the efficiency of the boat.
    • Avoid Obstacles: When using the boat, steer clear of submerged obstacles like rocks, weeds, and logs that could damage the propeller or hull.

    Charging the batteries

    • Proper Charger: Always use the manufacturer’s recommended charger for your bait boat's battery type to prevent overcharging or damaging the battery.
    • Avoid Overcharging: Don’t leave the battery charging overnight or for prolonged periods. Once fully charged, disconnect it to extend the battery's lifespan.
    • Battery Storage: When not in use, store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. If storing for a long period, discharge it slightly (around 50%) and recharge every few months to keep the cells healthy.
    • Inspect Regularly: Check for any signs of swelling, corrosion, or damage to the battery and replace if necessary.

    How To Start?

    Set-Up Information:

    1. Power Check

Connect the battery to the boat's power cable to verify the boat is powered on.

    2. Battery Charging:

After the initial test, charge the battery. When the charger's indicator light turns green, the battery is fully charged.

    3. Preparing for Use:

Place the battery into the battery compartment, secure the battery cover, and attach the antenna.
Turn on the power switch and place the boat in the water for use.

    4. Low Battery Warning:

When the boat's indicator light shows low battery, the night navigation lights will flash to warn you to stop using the boat to avoid losing it due to battery depletion (this applies to the non-GPS version only - Lakerunner 1.0).

    5. Battery Maintenance:

If the bait boat will not be used for an extended period, charge the battery twice a month to prevent battery failure due to discharge.

    6. Waterproofing:

Ensure the remote control and mainboard are well protected against water to prevent malfunction.

    7. Indoor GPS Signal:

If the boat's lights keep flashing when first powered on indoors or outdoors, it is normally due to the lack of a GPS signal. The GPS module needs several seconds to warm up when first powered on.

    8. Setting up Start and Finish Points:

Before the first use, mark the starting point and fishing spots. The system will store these points, enabling the boat to return home or navigate to fishing spots automatically. (Lakerunner 2.0 and 3.0 only).

    9. Auto Return:

If the boat automatically returns, it might be due to a low battery, weak wireless signal, or the remote control being turned off.

    10. Continuous Flashing Lights:

Continuous flashing lights can indicate weak or no GPS signal, or issues such as tangled propellers causing motor overload protection. A low battery can also cause the lights to flash for 2 seconds as a warning.

    11. Yaw Correction:

If the boat doesn't maintain a straight course in constant speed mode, it might be due to improper electronic compass calibration after installing the receiver board. Strong magnetic fields from high-voltage power lines or railways can also interfere with the compass. Recalibrate the compass or move to a different location to test.
